Recommendations
I'm not opposed to making recommendations that do not put money in my pocket. If I come to your house and see that the PC you are working with is something less desirable and perhaps may cost you more money to fix and or upgrade, I will recommend that you purchase a new machine. I usually just recommend something cheap and inexpensive from our local Wal-Mart or Office Max.
